Our commitment

All for Nature Travel brings nature closer to society and inspires people through the most beautiful wildlife experiences to also contribute to the preservation of our planet. Sustainable tourism and nature conservation are therefore fundamental for All for Nature Travel. With our journeys we take the traveler to places where nature is still intact and where his visit directly contributes to the preservation of the natural areas. With special experiences we make the pristine nature and its inhabitants, humans and wildlife, visible, in the belief that this will create new ambassadors for the conservation of these habitats.

Our sustainability policy and approach has been certified by Travelife for touroperators and is in compliance with the highest GSTC standards. We believe certification is necessary in order to manage the sustainable tourism chain and to prevent green washing. We strongly recommend this for our suppliers as well!

Your commitment

As an agent, DMC, lodge or excursion provider you are an essential part of our tours. We thank you so much for your commitment. You need to provide not just the highest quality standards, but also safeguard environmental and social sustainability. Most of our partners are already sustainable or working towards sustainable certification. We are proud for having you as our partner!

Tips for a more sustainable supply chain

On this page you will find more information about sustainability of our supply chain. You will find our policy for you as a supplier, but also guidelines, codes of conduct and a checklist for your accommodations. We hope to inspire you on a practical level what sustainable tourism is all about!

1) Sustainable tourism and Corporate Social Responsibility – Policy for Suppliers

In support of All for Nature’s commitment to sustainable tourism and corporate social responsibility the Supplier will initiate, or continue to develop and implement, a comparable sustainability strategy covering the Supplier’s impact on the environment, its employees and the local community. This policy serves as a guideline to a standard of ethical conduct, values and principles we expect Suppliers to adhere to when dealing with workers, agents, suppliers, and customers on All for Nature’s behalf.

This policy sets out the minimum standards All for Nature Travel expects from Suppliers and their employees, contractors, agents and subsidiaries when working on All for Nature’s behalf. For our suppliers selecting accommodations, transportation and excursions, All for Nature expect them to select the most sustainable options.

Ideally you should strive to get a tourism sustainability certification scheme recognised by the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) listed here: https://www.gstcouncil.org/certification/become-certified-tour-operator/#CBlist.

All for Nature Travel commits to the guidelines stated below and prefers partners who commit to these guidelines as well:

Environmental

Actively engage in aiming to reduce energy and water consumption and costs;
Actively engage in plastic reduction;
Actively engage in aiming to reduce the volume of solid waste produced;
And take measures to ensure all waste water discharged from the business is treated to meet national regulatory standards.

Social & Ethical

Ensure compliance with local employment legislation, documenting the legal minimum wage and being able to provide evidence that they pay no less than that to its employees;
Implement preventative measures and procedures to ensure that children are protected from tourism related sexual exploitation and all potential forms of abuse; and
Ensure that Employees under the age of 18 are only employed in accordance with national regulations and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, whichever provides most protection, and ensure that International Labour Organisation conventions on minimum age and child labour are complied with (ilo.org/ipec).

Captive Animals

We do not support animals in captivity or tame wild animals as pets around our lodges. If the Supplier’s business involves captive animals in any form (e.g. as part of entertainment, captive birds, a petting zoo, etc.), they must ensure that the ‘Global Standards for Animals in Tourism’ and relevant ‘Preferred Codes of Practice’ available at abta.com/animalwelfare are observed. Additionally, such businesses will ensure that all animals have been acquired legally and in accordance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES (www.cites.org).

Corruption/ Bribery

Corruption represents a major threat to the rule of law, democracy and human rights, fairness and social justice, hinders economic development and endangers the proper and fair functioning of market economies. Therefore, All for Nature will not collaborate with suppliers involved in any kind of corruption or bribery.

Code of Conduct

In case of equal qualification, the company prefers to employ local tour leaders, representatives, tour guides, porters, drivers, cooks and other local staff (including management positions), and provides training as required.
All employees of the company have a written employment contract, including labour conditions and a job description.
Local partners comply with all applicable international, national and local laws and regulations, industry minimum standards and any other relevant statutory requirements whichever requirements are more stringent.
Tour leaders, local representatives and guides contracted by the company, are qualified and are trained regularly.
Tour leaders, local representatives and guides are informed on the relevant aspects of the companies´ sustainability policy and are expected to comply with it.
Tour leaders, local representatives and guides inform clients on relevant sustainability matters in the destination (e.g. protection of flora, fauna, and cultural heritage, resource use), social norms and values (e.g. tips, dressing code and photography) and human rights (e.g. sexual exploitation).
Tour leaders and local representatives, contracted by the company, receive relevant information and / or training on the avoidance of sexual exploitation of children. This includes training on how to check the requirements concerning exclusion of child abuse.

2) Working with sustainable accommodations
Many of the accommodations you work with have a certification on sustainability. For those who are not certified, do you want to know how sustainable your accommodations are? Please make use of our checklist on sustainability for accommodations

3) Plastic-free holidays
Working on your reduction of plastic, for your company and your guests? Download the self-auditing toolkit of The Global Tourism Plastics Initiative (GTPI) which is designed to help hotels and accommodation providers assess and monitor their use of single-use plastic (SUP) items across operational areas.

We also recommend to have a look at this Plastic Waste Reduction Kit. It gives tour operators and their suppliers (hotels) practical, hands-on and easy to understand guidance for switching to more sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic. The toolkit includes, among others, 11 decision trees for the reduction of plastic in the context of different businesses, rating charts for the impact of different plastic alternatives, standard operating procedures to implement more sustainable alternatives to plastic step by step, and starters manuals for a “plastic pollution free holiday”.

4) Sustainability Code of Best Practice
Whether going on a safari, visiting a nation’s traditional, rural communities, going whale watching or walking along pristine beaches to observe turtle nesting, there are a range of considerations for activity providers to keep in mind when planning and conducting tourism activities. On Travelife you will find some codes of best practice have been compiled to ensure that the negative impacts that may result from activities on offer are minimized, whilst maximizing the benefits they can generate for the people and places in a destination, as well as the fulfillment enjoyed by our travelers.

Looking for more tools and training materials? Check the Digital Learning Hub of Fair Trade Tourism. It is a free, online, open-access repository of educational resources. This platform brings together practical tools, research, guides, and training materials developed to strengthen the understanding and implementation of responsible tourism principles.

6) How we involve our travelers
To involve our customers even more in our way of traveling and to make them aware of the importance of sustainable travel, we have developed a number of communication tools. Our Impact Report showes the results of our hard work for more than 15 years.
